Avalon Airshow in Geelong, Australia
if you ask yourself now, where the heck is Geelong? It’s south of Melbourne in Australia and from my first attendance in 2017, I have to state it is an incredible show, which is a must see, at least if you are around the corner..

Flight Testing with SN004 – a full success
Since the successful first flight of Beni, with his SN004 at the 5th of February 2023, he had some tremendous fun already with his new machine, which is the first customer-built SW-51 MUSTANG Kitplane.
Currently there are 8 flights logged already, and they were proving the design, and way exceeding the expectations of the owner, Beni.
Please allow me to repeat his words:
” the plane is very nice to fly, it is very direct, very agile, it is a real pilots airplane, I really like to fly it “
Spoiler: There will be a pilot’s interview with Beni soon, talking about his experience of flying the ScaleWings Mustang. – for you info: in his pilot career he flew for the Swiss Airforce: PC3, Hawker Hunter, the Vampire and later civil at Swiss airlines the famous DC9 & B747, A320, A330 / 340.
In other words, he is a real reference talking about flying the Mustang…
New Load Test – Done!
The plane in it’s evolution is growing; in terms of systems, which we install as I’ve informed you in the previous letter, but also in terms of the weight.
The aircraft MTOW is currently set to 850kg / 1874lb.
But that is not the actual load for the plane… The Mustang is designed to cope with MTOW @ 6g.. yep, 6g!
With the latest demo plane the 007 (news for the plane will come soon), we have achieved successfully the limit load test by the use of our own made hydraulic test jig, today!
The static integrity was well proven and the envelope of pulling 6g’s @ MTOW 850kg / 1874lb can be confirmed by this test.
Which we do for every “Ready-to-Fly” airplane assembled with Build Assist in our factory !
Ultimate load tests with a special for this purpose only fabricated test airframe will follow soon, to reconfirm the actual design limits, which might be even higher..
