The 2024 Airshow Season is poised to start BIG… ScaleWings will be there!
Paying homage to five decades of aerial excellence at the 50th anniversary, the SUN ´n FUN Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, FL, is expected to attract record-breaking attendance this year, reporting a sold out exhibitor line-up of 560 companies, and a jaw-dropping Aerial Display
including the revered USAF Thunderbirds… and the ScaleWings SW-51 in a live aerobatic display !
At this year´s SNF, ScaleWings will present two of the most advanced SW-51, one equipped with the new Rotax 916iS, AND we will fly in the main airshow – for the first time ever in the US – in an aerobatic performance.

SW-51 “Thunderbird” equipped with new Rotax 916iS
For the first time, we will present SW-51 “Thunderbird”, the first ScaleWings Mustang with the Rotax 916iS engine. Owner Gary selected a unique paint scheme inspired by the USAF Thunderbirds and Lefty Gardner´s P-51. After the show, the aircraft will be based in Texas with the excited owner, a former Aerobatics National Champion.
SUN ´n FUN – more than just an event
As the winter frost begins to thaw and the skies beckon once more, aviation enthusiasts from across the globe eagerly anticipate the arrival of spring and one event in particular: SUN ‘n FUN in Lakeland, Florida. This annual gathering serves as a vibrant celebration of all things aviation, drawing people together to share their passion, exchange stories, and indulge in a bit of aviation retail therapy. For those who have spent the long winter months grounded, SUN ‘n FUN is a much-anticipated opportunity to spread their wings once again.
SUN ´n FUN is more than just an event – it´s a cherished tradition, a chance to reconnect with our passion for aviation, and a reminder of the boundless possibilities that take flight when like-minded individuals come together in pursuit of a common dream.
